Yummy pepper biscuits
So I just returned yesterday from visiting that special someone up in Baltimore. All in all, it was a fabulous vacation filled with little surprises, and it was productive as well (I found an apartment!). My first morning up there, we started the time off right – with these delicious pepper biscuits from Bobby Flay and some basil and goat cheese scrambled eggs. Yum!
The recipe for the biscuits can be found here. We followed it exactly, except we subbed 1.5 cups whole milk plus 1.5 Tbsp lemon juice that we let sit for a few minutes in for the buttermilk. And our ‘biscuit cutter’ was just a dinner glass. Sometimes, you just work with what you’ve got…
Served piping hot, these biscuits were wonderful. Dense, yes, but wonderful still. They were okay on subsequent days for a quick addition to the breakfast, but really nothing beats that biscuit straight from oven to table, steaming as you open it:
