The Daring Cooks: potstickers

potstickers 1

It’s time again for the Daring Cooks challenge!  This month, for the second ever challenge, Jen from use real butter has challenged us all to make potstickers!  This was a lot of fun, and while a bit time consuming, it wasn’t that difficult.

I was really lucky to get to make these with my grandmother and young cousins.  They are the most well behaved children I know and did a great job helping flatten, stuff, pleat, and trim the potstickers!  They even set up and took the following picture for me to post up here of potstickers waiting to be fried!

For the filling, I used my grandmother’s egg roll filling which consists of shrimp, pork, carrot, green onion, mushroom, water chestnuts, soy sauce, and bit of sugar.  Everything is cooked except the water chestnuts which are added later.  These turned out so well, and were really a crowd pleaser!  Even one of the young cousins who doesn’t like shrimp was still able to appreciate her work and go back for seconds!
