TWD: thumbprints for us big guys

March 9, 2010

Some times things just work out.  A few weeks ago, the bf and I were perusing Baking looking for some good cookies to make, and he spotted these.  Unfortunately, at the time I was craving some chocolate, so the World Peace Cookies won out.  But in order to make those I vowed to make the thumbprints “very very soon”.  It wasn’t a hard promise to make.  Skip ahead two days and the TWD selections for March were announced: the thumbprints made the cut!  This made for one happy boy.

And they did not disappoint.  Not too sweet with yummy black cherry jam in the middle.  The dough was a tad dry prior to baking, which made it a little difficult to form, but it was well worth it in the end.  Especially with a cup of tea.

If anyone else out there is craving these bad boys, you can stop by Mike’s blog and pick up the recipe.  Or snag a copy of Baking if you don’t already have it!

Hooray for happy boyfriends (but WP cookies are soooo good) and TWD selections. Your thumbprints look fabulous. I’m loving the black cherry jam you selected — it looks so pretty in the centers.
