Hello and welcome!

While it amy be obvious by the fact that this is a food blog, I love food:  I love to cook it, I love to eat it, and I even love to look at it–all the brilliant colors can brighten even the dullest of spirits.  This page is for those of you who may be curious about the rest of me.

I am a twenty-something graduate student currently enjoying life in Baltimore.  My days are spent in a swirl of nanoparticle synthesis and cancer research.  I love what I do, but I ahve found out that I need an after-hours release to maintain my sanity, and consequently my productivity.  While food bloggings is a major player in this role, I also love the theater, music, glass-blowing, and reading.  While I love constantly learning new things, I will pick fiction over non any day of the week.

My mother and two (much) younger brothers are constant sources of inspiration to me.  I could probably fill up whole blogs about them but know they would be mortified.  While they live far away from me, the lessons I have learned from my mom, my brothers, and the rest of my family are never far from my heart.

I started writing this blog because I wanted to expand my abilities in baking, cooking, photography, and writing.  I have a lot to learn in all of these, but I have found that with most things in life a little practice goes a long way.  Blogging began as a way for me to commit to this practice, but through it I have found a community of wonderful, talented people with big hearts and active internet connections.
